Any laptop suggestions for multimedia student?

Any laptop suggestions for multimedia student?
I have asked several technicians, but all of them have suggested different brands of laptop such as Asus, Dell and BenQ.. I was actually planning to get a Dell XPS M1530 because i read alot review that says Dell has good warrenty which i'm not sure if its true, but also review that says BenQ is as good as Dell XPS which is another great option for multimedia. I'm not sure which laptop is the best to get because i do not want to waste my parents money so i need to make sure that i choose the right laptop that is very useful and also worth the price. I really hope that i can get some feedback from the laptop users so that i can make the right decision. Please and Thank you.

Dell is reliable but I'd prefer a IBM ThinkPad R51 is better.

HP has some awesome laptops for stuff like this so take a look. www.hp.com

I'd get an ASUS http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;jsessionid=LXHXUEIH3UAE1KC4D3KVAGQ?skuId=8906133&type=product&id=1213046768588 works VERY well. though ive also heard good things about XPS too. I'd choose either of these. but not the benQ

Dell xps laptops are nice, but they can be more expensive then a Dell Insperon laptop. If you customize your own insperon laptop from the Dell website you can get a higher end insperon that is almost as powerful, if not just as powerful then an xps, for a smaller price.

Apple Macs are great and come with a good warranty, but they are a lot of money.

My two suggestions would be the Dell XPS M1330, or a Toshiba Satellite A305D. Hope this gives you some good ideas!
