Windows XP Question, Internet?
you know when u reinstall any operating system again on a computer and after when u plug in a modem, u can access the internet. Well i reinstalled my o/s (Windows XP) on my BENQ laptop but the LAN connection tht's suppose to download with Windows XO dudn;t download so i can;t access the internet even with the modem connected. What might be the problem? The XP installation cd didn't come with tht laptop, it came with my desktop, could thtat be the problem.

You need to install first the driver for the network adapter.

XP installation CDs are all the same, no matter what make or model the computer is. Windows XP doesn't install the ethernet driver. Your audio may be missing too. To check, right click MY Computer and go to properties > hardware > device manager. All the missing drivers that Windows doesn't install should be in the list with a yellow '?' next to them. For all of those, you'll have to go to the manufacturer's website and download/install the drivers. Do this on another computer and put the downloaded drivers onto a flash drive, then install from there onto the other computer.

when you buy your laptop it comes with a cd driver. Insert the cd into your laptop cdrom/dvdrom drive and install...

People always call me spoiled. here is what I have. hp laptop compaq laptop benq laptop hp desktop a room identical to the master bedroom big bathroom big study room grand piano 4 closets with tons of clothes a lot of nike shoes 52 inch tv in my room wii ps3 psp ps2 xbox xbox 360 itouch iphone ipod nano own maid no chores a lot of gaming accessories like steering wheels there might be more but...... i do get good grades..........

Oh My Gosh I really wish i get those stuff. I get great grades and I don't even get any of those i share a closet with my brother. I won't call spoiled but i think you s=deserve it since you said you get good grades. What's your e-mail address? If you really do get good grades than no I do not think you are spoiled, however every family has different reasons on what their parents spguardianr child. Siblings play an important thing and the jobs your parents have. Just keep up the good grades to make it "worth" it.

Spoiled? By many - if not most - peoples standards, yes, absolutely. By my own estimation you are horribly impoverished, meaning that you need to experience more real life and less virtual life through all your electronic gadgetry. If you actually use all that neat crap regularly, you are really missing out on what life is really all about. At least strive for a balance. I'd recommend dumping it all, strapping on a backpack for a year or ten, and getting out to see what the real world is all about. Remember this - that stuff owns you and controls you; not the other way around. If you don't get a handle on reality, life is really going to blind-side you but good one day.

I got all A*s and As for my educational grades and none of that unless I paid for it with my student job. But I'm not jealous or anything. Happiness comes from a mental and spiritual state, not materialism

BenQ made in china
| Everything Made In China? Even the Laptop? I was shock that china is duplicating everyting! Sorry chinese people no offense pls. I'm just worried that everthing china has made has low quality. Even Acer aspire 4520 is made in china! So I was hoping that this won't break easily. My Digicam is BenQ made in china. So this means this eletronic devices is not that good in quality? The devices are still made by the various manufacturers to their specifications and quality. The only reason 'everything' is made in China these days is because the labour costs are much lower than in Europe or the USA. 2 : Just because an item is made in China does not mean it is of low quality. What really matters when considering item quality are the quality of the components and the manufacturing process involved in making the components. Oxygen free copper audio cables made in China will still be better than bog standard steel audio cables made in silicone valley. 3 : No, quality doesn't necessarily decrease because it was manufactured in china. Almost every electronics manufacturer (laptops, cell phones, mp3 players, cameras, etc) sources at least some part of their devices to China. Ipods are made in china and their perceived quality is quite high. It depends on the investment in quality parts and the level of quality control. Having said that, I've seen a lot of Acer laptops fail because of poor quality (ie cheap) parts. Benq laptop windows 7 upgrade
about windows 7 upgrade and so on ...?
I have a benq laptop that comes with windows vista oem disk . I installed the vista and activated it . I recently bought a new acer laptop that eligible for free windows 7 upgrade but unfortunately it doesn't have windows on it ! has no operation system . so the question is that can I install the benq windows vista on acer laptop and use the free windows 7 upgrade on it ? and does it stopped windows vista running on benq laptop ? My laptop is eligible for a free windows 7 upgrade but it have no windows vista operation system on it , what should I do now ?

No, because the Benq license if for that machine. You would need a seperate valid license for the ACER. If you tried it you would have to use the same license for both machines which wouldn't be allowed.
