help with benq ArcSoft WebCam Companion?
I'm really new at the whole webcam thing. I was using it on msn on my benq laptop, and I chose an effect (my laptop supports the ArcSoft WebCam Companion program) and now I don't know how to get rid of it! i tried reopening the webcam program, but the effects box doesn't show up anymore. When it does show up, I don't know how to get rid of the effect, you can only choose another effect. I'm not quite sure if this even make sense..but can someone please help me??

just google it, put the whole name like "BenQ S2W 3300U vista drivers" on google. It's that simple, you will find the drivers right away on BenQ's website.

That scanner is an older model and Manufacturers website don´t have drivers for Vista use! Maybe you can find it else were if the scanner is an good and popular one? I hope it helps

BenQ Joybook S53
is it possible to install Mac OS X on my laptop? if yes, which OS X should I get?
I'm currently using BenQ Joybook S53, it's a bit ancient laptop running on Windows XP SP2, 1.86 GHz Intel Centrino processor with 1.24 GB of RAM. I've tried to "pimp it up" using FlyaKite OS X theme but ended up to get some viruses (lol). My eyes have been flashed with Apple's beautifulness... I'm blind.

Alas, no, MacOS does not run on anything other than Apple hardware. Apple hardware can, however, run XP et al. Its a good investment, or a better investment than a PC, at any rate. The overall cost of use (total cost of ownership) is lower, easier to use, more reliable, etc. Its worth the extra bucks.

No, it is NOT possible to use OS X on a Wintel machine. You don't have the Mac specific ROMs.

Benq joybook 5100U laptop
my laptop keyboard does not work correctly i belive this to be mainboard fault, would it be expensive to fix ?
The laptop is a Ben Q laptop. Everything else works but the keyboard. Is this because of the mainboard or is it something else. How much will it cost to get it fixed. It'll probably cost alot of money to get it fixed, if it's not under warranty. It's a risk, but you can open up your laptop and see if the keyboard is connected properly. It's pretty straightforward on my Fujitsu notebook, but your mileage may vary. If you want to send it back to the manufacturer, you'll have to pay for shipping + service + parts (if necessary). It could easily cost $200-300. Another alternative is to search for "laptop repair" in Google and take your chances on a third party laptop repair service. Good luck.

Doesn't have to be, my laptop had a similar fault, i now use a usb Cherry keyboard. and could cost u at least 130 Dollar, although most likely more. so USB Keyboard is the best bet matey, you could always check by borrowing a keyboard from a mate or from work. don't think its Hardware.

Just upgrade to a Macintosh and all these moronic problems will go away.

Could you please explain what DOES NOT WORK CORRECLTY means? Does it work at all? Do some of the keys works, but not others? Do some keys result in the wrong charcters? etc. etc. If even one key works then the chip controller that works the keyboard is fine. Usually, there is a liquid spilled on the keyboard that shorts out the wiring traces and garbles the signal sent to the controller chip....

just buy a keyboard with a usb adapter on it so you can use the keyboard don't buy a usb keyboard they will ask for more just buy a keyboard and adapter to conncet on to the the keyboard cable then into the usb port
