Help Modding my Xbox 360?
Ok I need help modding my Xbox 360, I Know for a fact I have a BenQ disk drive. The only question is, will a USB to SATA cable work? I also am wondering if theres any other items I need to complete this process besides: A computer, Xbox 360, Complete package of Software ( includes stealth writing, jungleflash, game ripping etc...) disc media and of course games to rip. Is that all I need pretty much? Cause I have a laptop, and i'm not sure if thats ok. It has vista 64-bit also... And lastly... Im so sick and tired of people who answer questions like: I'm not sure, I don't know but..., or any answer trying to steer me away from modding the console.

I need computer pros and cons.?
I am looking for a new computer I want a very fast computer that has TONS of memory. I will be using it for school, pictures, graphics, games, ect. So what I want to know is what are the pros and cons of all brands or computers? Lenovo, Sony, Apple, Dell, Gateway, Panasonic, Toshiba, Acer, Asus, Benq, and everything! What would be the best brand and type of computer for me? What would be the best laptop and desktop? thanks for the help!

do yourself a favor, and don't buy prebuild machines.... if you absolutely have to... dell or acer... i'd recommend acer because its basically sold in walmart and if you have a problem it can be returned on the spot so you're not without too long.... get an external drive as well to back up really important photos/school work.... never know when disaster can strike.... with that being said.. you can easily build your own for a fraction less and get more performance and bang for your buck... if you need help picking out parts or questions about building a comp... feel free to im me x50calrampage

IMO most "Brand" name PC are crap. Building your own not only would save you a ton of cash but, would have better parts to boot. I know that building a PC may sound hard but, it's really not. If that is not a option then get a custom built PC from Alienware or Ibuypower. This way your PC will be 100% upgradable unlike Dells and HP's.

Get the one with the fastest processor, a dual core will be fine;320gig hard drive,2 gigs of ram. That will be fast enough unless you have lots of money. Brand doesnt matter as they all have similar parts inside-its like asking which is better a Ford or a Chevy. Everyone will give you a different answer.

Well, you can consider Acer Aspire 2930. It is a recently-released laptop. It has newest processor Intel Centrino 2, holographic 3D cover with Starlit backlight, 2nd Generation Dolby Home Theater, Acer Bio-Protection fingerprint solution, Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD and 320GB hard drive memory. I recommend this to you because I just bought it and I think that it is a pretty decent laptop^^

Laptop if you are on the go alot - Example: Using in at School. Best bet is to go with a desktop if you can(if you just really plan using it at home). They are cheaper, better for gaming, and can be easily upgraded later on. If you go Desktop.. I personally think building your own is the best route. It is usually cheaper and you can get exactly what you want. You can start with a Barebone kit from tigerdirect.com or newegg.com to get you started(usually some good deals) If you go laptop or even if you do go desktop but don't feel comfortable building your own computer... I'd say go with a Dell... I have had good luck with them... I use a Dell at work(so does everyone else in the building). Dell has great customer service imo. Whatever you get.. I"d say get specs around this: CPU Dual Core 2.0ghz or better 2+ gigs of ram and a decent graphic card(don't get integrated graphics)

Tons of memory like 16GB's ur talking about no money in ur wallet/purse, and really just build a computer. dont think about brands or those kinds of shit just build one. itll come out cheaper then most prebuilt computers and ull have the newest hardware. i would say around $1000. (does not include moniter, cooling system, or add ons.)

File Error in my digital cam?
File Error in my digital cam?
I have a Benq digital cam. I took many pics and when I try to view them, it gives me the "File Error" msg. how can I retrieve the pics????????? I put the memory card in the slot in my laptop but it didnt read it as well...it said thatit needs formatting and that I have to format it, but I dont want to lose the pics !

download RecoverMyFiles from the net and the serial number of purchase it, install if on your pc, even after format you can recover all the files which was deleted but don't save any more data on you memcard till you recover the lost one

My friend has offered to build be a computer for about $1500 since the motherboard on my laptop blew up for the third time and I'm sick of it. My main purpose for this computer would be gaming but not extreme gaming just casual. Dell's XPS 630 gaming desktop is for a USD 1000 with the following specs: CPU: Intel Core 2 E8400 3.0 GHz with 6MB cache Optical Drive: 16X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) DL RAM: 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM2 at 800MHz - 2 DIMMs HDD: 500GB3 - 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s, 16MB Cache Video Card: SLi, Dual nVidia GeForce 9800GT 512MB Audio: Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio Plus you have 1 year warranty incase if anything goes wrong, bear in mind that your friend wouldn't be able to give you a warranty. Which 24" LCD would be the best choice?

The only thing i can tell is the price difference but if you lcd monitor experts can help me decide which is the best that would be great. My main purpose of the monitor will be for my ps3 which i will be using hdmi connection and also as a second monitor for my laptop, since i will be doing alot of music and video studio work. Without doubt go for Sony Bravia! if price is not a concern you can opt for samsung lcd's too.

Viewsonic is a good brand and two of my roommates use Viewsonic monitors. I'm using a 22in Westinghouse monitor right now and it's great. Since both the Westing and Viewsonic have the same specs, I'd go with the cheaper one; the Westing looks better anyways. The BenQ is 2ms faster than the other two, so thats nice. I've owned a BenQ monitor and it served me very well. You can't go wrong with any of the 3, and they all have good ratings on newegg, but the BenQ and Viewsonic will break your bank. If money isn't really an issue, then have you considered going with Samsung? Their monitors are one of the best in my opinion. Have fun!

There really is no best LCD. IMO LCD is one of the worst technologies to be delivered to the market. There are just way too many faults with the technology that outweigh the benefits. Overall though..When it comes to LCD's you have to purchased based on your needs and it takes quite a bit of research if you are dead set on getting the best LCD for your money. If you want to read around on lots of in depth reviews and HELPFUL customer based opinions...head over to this site. http://www.hardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=78 They have tons of dedicated official threads for many LCD's. Also you can read on why no LCD is perfect....Main reason though fyi is that every LCD has a strength and a weakness. There is no LCD with everything all around perfect. So you really need to purchase based on it's strenghts that suit your needs. Just look around there and you'll find your answer...Also make sure you read into the differences of TN, PVA/MVA, and IPS panels..You can find that on the page as well. I'm with Kamr00z ^^^ LCD's are shite. Aside from lower power use and smaller size, they have NO advantage over flat CRT's. At least you're looking at 24" panels. 22" and smaller are crap as they are TN panels.

Obviously the last 2 posters haven't thought about how LCD's save space on a desk. Who wants a clunky CRT when a LCD will save you a lot more space and deliver great performance(not as good as CRT). The pros outweigh the cons.

BenQ E2400HD
How would normal quality video look on a 24" HD monitor ?
I am looking to buy a 24" LCD monitor to go with my laptop and I have quite a lot of older videos (avi, mpeg, real media, etc etc) that are in a variety of different resolutions. I was wondering how the videos would look or turn out on, say, a BenQ E2400HD monitor. Will it be stretched and ugly, lots of fat pixels, or blur ? Will I HAVE to have true HD videos for them to look good on such a monitor ? Thanks in advance ! As in how my collection of different-resolution videos would look when watched in full screen. Thanks.

They will look the same as they do now unless you have a really old monitor that supports a very low resolution. If you tell it to stretch it to full screen then obviously it will stretch it but it shouldn't do that unless you tell it to. You will HAVE to have 1080P movies to see the the best possible picture because it offers the best resolution.

What computer should I buy?
I am in the market for a new laptop and recently bought a Dell XPS m1530. However, the hard-drive crashed after 5 days. Dell replaced the computer and when I opened the computer, the spacebar key was broken. I sent it back as well and am now back to square one. The Dell was $2150 (improved graphics card, screen, blu-ray player, etc...). I want to spend around this for my complete setup, however, now instead of having blu-ray on my computer, I am going to buy a PS3 and a BenQ monitor. So, now I'm considering the Gateway M6864FX (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8907043&st=gateway&lp=2&type=product&cp=1&id=1213046783376), a Dell studio 15 or a Dell XPS M1330. I am wondering if I should trust Dell again after the two issues I have had with them, but also I don't know if a Gateway is a wise investment. Which is the best buy, and do you have any other suggestions for similar computers? I forgot to add, I plan on using the computer for law school in a few months, as well, I play Wow, flight sim x, and some steam games. Kabuki, does that mean if i buy a Dell from dell.com and it breaks, i can take it to best buy and they'll fix it?

i have an ancient dell from a former job. it works fine still. i had another dell laptop from my last job. that worked fine. I like gateway a lot. it's the best buy for a moderate budget. in fact right now I'm writing this on my gateway laptop MX8711. I love it. see reviews.cnet.com

Looks like Dell has done great job of fixing problem. I would stick with them. I have 3 Dells and not a speck of trouble with them. None in all my years at work using Dells either. PS Best Buy handles warranty fro any Dell computers they sell... Q: Who can I contact if I need technical support? If I were you, I would steer clear of gateway. They would not have done half the job that dell did of replacement. You could also look at possibly sony vaio, or even HP. But if I were you, I would go back to dell. I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

i am writing on a gateway M-6864FX. i bought last week from best buy. it was 999.99 and now its 750. i really like it. great specs good graphics card. there is also an HDMI port which is very useful. the only downside is the 200 gb hard drive (i was hoping for something a but bigger...i bought a 500 gb external drive with it) the laptop looks really nice. its stylish and different from all the dell and hp clones. solid. the keyboard flex that you may read about is not much of a problem for me, i barely notice it. the gateway is by far the best value of the three laptops. i dont have any experience on the customer service so i cant comment on that. the FX will be more than adequate for your games and at 750 it will leave plenty of room in your budget for a PS3. i hope i was able to help.

Dell replaced the computer and when I opened the computer, the spacebar key was broken. I sent it back as well and am now back to square one. The Dell was $2150 (improved graphics card, screen, blu-ray player, etc...). I want to spend around this for my complete setup, however, now instead of having blu-ray on my computer, I am going to buy a PS3 and a BenQ monitor. So, now I'm considering the Gateway M6864FX (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8907043&st=gateway&lp=2&type=product&cp=1&id=1213046783376), a Dell studio 15 or a Dell XPS M1330. I am wondering if I should trust Dell again after the two issues I have had with them, but also I don't know if a Gateway is a wise investment. Which is the best buy, and do you have any other suggestions for similar computers? I forgot to add, I plan on using the computer for law school in a few months, as well, I play Wow, flight sim x, and some steam games. Kabuki, does that mean if i buy a Dell from dell.com and it breaks, i can take it to best buy and they'll fix it?

i have an ancient dell from a former job. it works fine still. i had another dell laptop from my last job. that worked fine. I like gateway a lot. it's the best buy for a moderate budget. in fact right now I'm writing this on my gateway laptop MX8711. I love it. see reviews.cnet.com

Looks like Dell has done great job of fixing problem. I would stick with them. I have 3 Dells and not a speck of trouble with them. None in all my years at work using Dells either. If I were you, I would steer clear of gateway. They would not have done half the job that dell did of replacement. You could also look at possibly sony vaio, or even HP. But if I were you, I would go back to dell. I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

i am writing on a gateway M-6864FX. i bought last week from best buy. it was 999.99 and now its 750. i really like it. great specs good graphics card. there is also an HDMI port which is very useful. the only downside is the 200 gb hard drive (i was hoping for something a but bigger...i bought a 500 gb external drive with it) the laptop looks really nice. its stylish and different from all the dell and hp clones. solid. the keyboard flex that you may read about is not much of a problem for me, i barely notice it. the gateway is by far the best value of the three laptops. i dont have any experience on the customer service so i cant comment on that. the FX will be more than adequate for your games and at 750 it will leave plenty of room in your budget for a PS3. i hope i was able to help.

the drivers on my computer are not working?
Today for some weird reason the drivers on my computer are not working. I tried to use my scanner it says I don't have some driver installed. Then I tried to open msn messenger and it said the same thing. Then I tried to play chess and the same the thing happened!! Also, when I turned on my computer a lil box came up saying "Run DLL, Error loading C:\Windows\system32\NvCpl.dll the specific module could not be found" The only thing I changed was that yesterday I installed the scanner, it's a BenQ 5000 Mirascan 6.x Can you help me asap please?? Thank you! btw it's a laptop. This keep coming up ALL the time " Warning: Symantec Endpoint Protection has determined that the virus definitions are missing on this computer. This computer will remain unprotected from viruses until virus definitions are downloaded to this computer." I'm not sure I know what that means. Also I turned on my computer this morning and this message came up "Microsoft Windows: .NET Runtime Optimization Service stopped working and was closed. A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available." I did what IBMGuy said yesterday. It didn't work. Did a system restore and nothing happened/changed. Then I found out the type of NVIDIA video chipset I have and such and went to the site and downloaded it. When I tried to install it 4 things were happening upon installation including the installation itself. At the end of it, everything else happened but the installation failed and it didn't say why. I tried reinstalling it three times But it failed, so I shut down the computer, rebooted and tried again but it still didn't work. Also another thing just popped up saying "Microsoft Windows: Sysmantec CMC SmcGui has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." What the hell is going on!!? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

You need to re-load your Nvidia drivers for the display. Check your user manual or laptop spec to see which one you need. Or try typing dxdiag in the windows start/search box then click display, this should tell you which video chipset the laptop is using, then go to Nvidia downloads to get it and install. Please try a windows system restore first to see if this corrects the problem, it's quicker and less hassle. If you have windows 7, Type "system restore" in the start box then restore it from a week ago.

BenQ Joybook 8100
Windows XP won't boot...help, please?
Currently using benQ Joybook 8100 with windows XP home edition. All of a sudden when chatting on messenger, the laptop just turned itself off and then when I tried to restart it, it just says "invalid or damaged bootable partition". What should I do? I have windows XP with me but I haven't backed up my data inside my C drive. I have 2 partitions, C and D drive. Currently using benQ Joybook 8100 with windows XP home edition. All of a sudden when chatting on messenger, the laptop says that it ran out of memory (or something similar...I can't really recall) and then just turned itself off. When I tried to restart it, it just says "invalid or damaged bootable partition". What should I do? I have windows XP disc with me but I haven't backed up my data inside my C drive. can you get into the safemode? You can just get the hard disk out, install the hard disk to another computer and copy the files.

Basically it's saying XP is damaged because the HDD has been thrashed around a lot this is common in laptops. So more than likely your HDD is destroyed, so try and open hte BIOS settings by tapping delete as you start up then navigate in there to make the cd drive the first bootable device and put that XP cd in and do a reinstall. However if you want your data I understand some computer stores offer a recovery service where they can salvage the contents of your HDD, so do this first if you have things you really need in there. Otherwise you may have to get a new HDD which is about 60 dollars for a 120 gig I guess.

If your XP disc is an actual Windows disk and not a restore disc, and if your hard drive isn't thrashed, you can do a repair/install of Windows XP without losing data. You will have to reupgrade Internet Explorer if your using 7.0 and you will lose all emails if you use outlook express but other than that all files and programs will remain intact. But before you attempt this, be aware that this is easy on systems that were home built as the builder has the chipset and graphics card drivers on CD and is able to reinstall these drivers after reloading XP. If you dont have these discs available and/or you can't get the specific drivers from the BenQ website, DO NOT ATTEMPT THE FOLLOWING! 1. make sure your computer is set to CD/DVD as the first boot device. do this in BIOS if it's not already set up. 2. start your computer with the XP disc in the drive. 3. let windows start to load until you get to the screen that gives you the choice of entering the Repair Console or Set up Windows XP. Do not go to the repair console. This is not the no-reformat reinstall you want. Click as though you are loading a new version. 4. After hitting f8 to accept windows user agreement Windows will say it's searching for previous installed versions of Windows. Your original Windows installation will be highlighted in the box. if it's not, highlight it and select R for repair. If no previous XP version is found, quit setup. 5. After this stage of installation Windows will reboot. Again, don't do this if you don't have the driver CD's available or the Drivers from the manufacturers website. Also, if your previous Windows install is not on the hard drives after windows has searched for previous versions of XP, bail out. hit escape or turn off the computer before Windows setup finishes. Windows will be reloaded and all your files and programs will be there. Just remember to avoid the Repair console at the first fork in the road. A webcam is a webcam is a webcam. As long as you can plug it in to a graphics card inside the PC, try it, what can it hurt? Nuttin. Just download any drivers if needed and start up an Instant Messenger Program. The OS should recognize the webcam IF it is a USB connection. Even if nuttin' works, so what, ya found it.

BENQ for 169.99
which monitor should i buy? :)?
i would like to buy a monitor to plug into my laptop to make it a desktop computer :) I have been looking through the flyers and narrowed it down to two monitors that are on sale this weekend. The first one is 21.5 inch BENQ for 169.99, the other is is a 20 inch LG for 149.99. They also have a 23 inch samsung for 249.99 but i am not paying an extra 100 dollars just for a few inches. The problem is i am not familiar with the brand name BENQ, but i recognize the LG brand name so i am hesitant on getting the BENQ even though for an extra 20 dollars i get 1.5 more inches.

In other words, there are five main types of external monitor video ports that come on laptops, and you need to make sure the monitor you choose has the same one as your laptop. Is there a way to connect a monitor wirelessly?
Is there a way to connect a monitor wirelessly? (Via bluetooth or wifi?)?
You see I've got a Benq projector which is connect to the laptop usinga serial port (I don't know if that's what it's called, I connect it via a blue cable that's pretty much standard for every monitor I've seen. Well live live in a big house and my laptop is pretty weak and I wanted to show HD ready (not full hd) movies using my desktop computer but to do that I would have to to connect the projector wirelessly. Is there a method to do that?

That blue cable is not a serial cable. A serial cable is for old RS232 telephone modems and very old serial mice. That blue cable is a standard VGA monitor cable. And NO, there is NO way to transmit HD video over bluetooth or one of those external USB video cards with a wifi signal sender. Those USB external video cards are EXTREMELY limited in resolution (they won't do any HD resolution), very poor in performance, are unstable, and costs more than $100. The only way to transmit HD-quality video (720p HD or 1080p full HD) is with a set of wireless WHDMI extenders, and those things cost like $800 a set. Frankly, the standard VGA monitor cable you are already using is far more cost-effective. (Free, and it works well.)

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop downstairs and a BenQ desktop upstairs. I have a vodafone internet modem that looks like this: http://www.gra2.com/images/library/Image/mac-vodafoneusb.png I want a connection on both, beacuse im sick of moving the modem up and down stairs constantly. I just bought a new BenQ monitor to connect it with my laptop and every few minutes the BenQ monitor keeps blinking or flickering for a second and does it again again and again doesnt stop. HOW DO YOU FIX THIS. Is this the laptop's problem or the Monitor's problem. I don't want to go through the hassle of returning and repackaging~~~

I had this problem on my Compaq when I first installed Windows 7. I found that the screen kept flickering. I think it is neither the laptop's problem nor the monitor's problem. It could be the operating system's problem. I installed Windows 7 and the screen kept flickewring, but a Windows Update solved the problem. I suggest you check for your updates.

you cant you need a desktop for its drive unless you want to tear apart it wich will 99% destroy it.

Since the Xbox 360's DVD drive uses a normal SATA connection. You will need a Desktop PC that has a free SATA port to flash the drive. Laptops, even those that use SATA, have a different type of connection to desktops and are not compatible, sorry.

I have a Benq digital cam. I took many pics and when I try to view them, it gives me the "File Error" msg. how can I retrieve the pics????????? I put the memory card in the slot in my laptop but it didnt read it as well...it said thatit needs formatting and that I have to format it, but I dont want to lose the pics !

BENQ PB6200
how do i hook up a projector and a external monitor to my lap top?
I can hook up the monitor to my lap top just fine, or hook up my projector to my lap top just fine ( using a s video for the projector and the regular cord that is attached to the monitor. ) but i cant get both external displays to work at the same time. i know it is possible, how do i do it? the monitor is a KDS usa and the projector is a BENQ PB6200 my laptop is a Toshiba satellite P205-s7804. thanks for your help SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE.

I cant seem to get my wifi working on my benq joy lite u101. This problem had just appeared after i upgrade to windows 7. Before my laptop was windows xp. I did check in the device manager uder network adapters and it only showed my ethernet device. Help. i did tried installing windows 7 on the same model but its the black color. everything seems fine. When i work on the blue one, the WiFi doesn't seem to work.

I have an old laptop which internal DVD drive was damaged. The preinstalled operating system is Windows XP Home Edition sp1. My old laptop come with 3 recovery CDs, and two of them must be used during the recovery process. That means after using Disc 1, I have to insert Disc 2 for recovery process. Can I use PXE to boot the System Recovery? Any website for references? For your information, My old laptop is Benq Joybook 5000U. Please explain in details. My laptop support PXE booting, but does not support booting from USB CD/DVD-rom. I have another Windows XP computer.

Benq s42 laptop with an NVIDIA 9600m
Very high gpu temperatures, please help me :(?
Ok, so i have a benq s42 laptop with an NVIDIA 9600m gt. The temperatures are SO high!! For example, it idles at 80c and when i play the sims 3 with everything on medium the temps hit 100-110!! O.O" . Someone told me to change the fan speed. i downloaded rivatuner and i couldn't change the speed, used speedfan and also couldn't change the speed, i couldn't even change it using nvidia control panel!! i tried removing the dust from my gpu by vacuuming the vents, also nothing happened. i tried using a notebook cooler, the temperature only decreased by none to 5 degrees ~__~ !! PLEASE HELP!! i don't want my laptop to die!! :@@ If this helps, these are my specs: Intel core 2 duo 2.4ghz, 3m cache (p8600 i think) 3gb ddr2 ram nvidia geforce 9600m gt with 256mb gddr3

I have a really good laptop (Benq S42) but The sims 3 is lagging!! Why!!?? Can high temps cause the problem? Unallocated Harddrive?

My whole harddrive become unallocated but the funny thing I can run Ubuntu Linux under demo mode. I can see from the Gparted Partition Manager the whole harddrive is unallocated. I used to have 4 partitions, the C drive is Windows XP and the rest D, E, F drive are just data. I would like to restore the partitions as used to but I am afraid if I create new partition table, it will erase all the partition and I lost all data. Perhaps anyone can help me and do have good suggestion? O yes, my DVD-ROM is also not working and I run this on laptop Benq. Thank you. Thanks for the replies. Do you think I can recover the files if I replace the HDD now into slave and put a new one as master? Will I be able to read the slave drive and see all partitions? Thanks.

if you create a new partition table it will be new and blank with no data. if Gparted is not seeing it something went wrong. Did you not mess around with the The ubuntu installation disk and somehow manged to remove your windows partitions ? I think in this case you are stuffed, you can reformat the drives and then use the drive as a slave with Filescavenger to try recover important files (Unfortunately)

SBSP is pretty much right. It has happened to a number of computers I have attempted to fix. Most of them did not partition the drive properly or was not activated properly, causing it unallocated and sometime unreadable. Good luck to you I have tried using many different file scavenger software, most of them has a hard time picking it up. Worst case scenario you need to take it to a HDD recovery specialist. That means, lots of $$$

got a laptop recently, and is running Vista Home Premium... everything was fine until the lasat 2 days... i was installing office 2007 on it, but somehow, an error occured... thus i cancelled the installation, which requires me to use end process in task manager... after restarting the laptop, i found out that it is slower than it was to be (eg takes time to load the content in a folder/thumb drive...), at startup the hard disk led blinks for quite some time (>1min), and after that there's a lot of unexplained hard disk activity... such activity lasts for abt 5 sec and takes place every 3 sec, even when it is idle... anyone out there knows what happened to my laptop?? do you have windows vista dvd then format and reinstall windows vista if you don't have then download ccleaner and clean everything then download tune up utilities and then run startup manager and check off everything without nvidia* and the safe to remove. then make everything to optimize your pc then he will better than first you buy it. any help email me at odehrish@yahoo.com.

got a laptop recently, and is running Vista Home Premium... everything was fine until the lasat 2 days... i was installing office 2007 on it, but somehow, an error occured... thus i cancelled the installation, which requires me to use end process in task manager... after restarting the laptop, i found out that it is slower than it was to be (eg takes time to load the content in a folder/thumb drive...), at startup the hard disk led blinks for quite some time (>1min), and after that there's a lot of unexplained hard disk activity... such activity lasts for abt 5 sec and takes place every 3 sec, even when it is idle... anyone out there knows what happened to my laptop?? why my Bluetooth/WiFi light indicator is ALWAYS lighted up?
i'm using laptop benQ joybook lite u126 and was wondering why my Bluetooth/WiFi light indicator is ALWAYS lighted up even though i turned off both the Bluetooth and Wifi. Is it Something wrong with the driver? This causes my battery to run out fast. When I try to use my mobile phone to search for bluetooth device, it cannot detact my laptop...but my laptop always automatically connect to my wifi even though i turned it off. Any idea? PS: there's no physical button on my laptop to turn on/off. i have to do this via a few clicks on the software so i suspect maybe something wrong with the wifi/bluetooth driver? could it be?

Benq Joybook R55 laptop
Can I change this laptops CPU ?
I have a Benq Joybook R55 laptop . At the moment I have a 60 gb HDD ( SATA 5400 rpm ) , and 512 RAM . I had ordered already 2 1 GB RAM stick , that are compatible with my laptop , and I have a decent laptop graphics card : NVIDIA GeForce 7400 , with 256 mb of memory . Now , the problem is that my CPU has only 1.6 ghz speed ( Intel Celeron M ) . I overclock it , and it runs at 1.9 GHZ with no heat issues . My question is : can I upgrade my CPU to a 2.8-3.2 GHZ speed , or not ?

No,the CPU is soldered into the motherboard. Budget laptops just aren't designed for Gaming.

Well I would suggest overclocking, but hou have already done that. You have already overclocked it and increased by 0.3 Ghz, 0.1 to 0.5 Ghz is considered safe overclocking. 0.6 Ghz to 1.0Ghz is considered extreme and anything above that is dangerous as it will probably just burn out your processor, so to get the speeds you want overclock it some more, raise all levels to about 3/4 maximum, if it starts to overheat i suggest you change it back. Overclocking really is the only way to increase the cpu speed. The only other way is to buy a new cpu, or easier, a new laptop.

Of course, it also depends on the motherboard and the support chips that interface the CPU to the rest of the motherboard components. Understand that in the day when we built 8-bit processors, it was a lot easier to overclock as the slower processors were exactly like the faster CPUs but could not hold up under the heat/strain of higher clock rates. When a chip is rated at a specific speed, it usually means that it broke down, started to make mistakes at the higher clock rates--not necessarily overheat. Overclocking might seem to work, but when things go wrong you're never really sure if it's the processor failing or some other issue. Note that when a modern CPU overheats (for whatever reason) it simply slows down until it returns to normal OT. Your overclocking might have seemed to work, but really didn't.... hth

Can I use a SATA to USB to flash my Benq vad6036 on Xbox 360?
I just got an Xbox 360 Elite a few days ago, I took the vad6036 DVD drive out, but then placed it back in because I do not have a SATA plug on my laptop. I heard of SATA to USB cords, and I was just wondering if one of those would work to flash my 360, so i can back up my games and not have to worry about scratching disks etc... uhhh... did you not get the part when I said "MY" 360? I already have one, and that's not answering my question at all...

BENQ laptop but the LAN connection
Windows XP Question, Internet?
you know when u reinstall any operating system again on a computer and after when u plug in a modem, u can access the internet. Well i reinstalled my o/s (Windows XP) on my BENQ laptop but the LAN connection tht's suppose to download with Windows XO dudn;t download so i can;t access the internet even with the modem connected. What might be the problem? The XP installation cd didn't come with tht laptop, it came with my desktop, could thtat be the problem.

You need to install first the driver for the network adapter.
2 :
XP installation CDs are all the same, no matter what make or model the computer is. Windows XP doesn't install the ethernet driver. Your audio may be missing too. To check, right click MY Computer and go to properties > hardware > device manager. All the missing drivers that Windows doesn't install should be in the list with a yellow '?' next to them. For all of those, you'll have to go to the manufacturer's website and download/install the drivers. Do this on another computer and put the downloaded drivers onto a flash drive, then install from there onto the other computer.

when you buy your laptop it comes with a cd driver. Insert the cd into your laptop cdrom/dvdrom drive and install...

By my own estimation you are horribly impoverished, meaning that you need to experience more real life and less virtual life through all your electronic gadgetry. If you actually use all that neat crap regularly, you are really missing out on what life is really all about. At least strive for a balance. I'd recommend dumping it all, strapping on a backpack for a year or ten, and getting out to see what the real world is all about. Remember this - that stuff owns you and controls you; not the other way around. If you don't get a handle on reality, life is really going to blind-side you but good one day.

Even Acer aspire 4520 is made in china! So I was hoping that this won't break easily. My Digicam is BenQ made in china. So this means this eletronic devices is not that good in quality? Oxygen free copper audio cables made in China will still be better than bog standard steel audio cables made in silicone valley. 3 : No, quality doesn't necessarily decrease because it was manufactured in china. Almost every electronics manufacturer (laptops, cell phones, mp3 players, cameras, etc) sources at least some part of their devices to China. Ipods are made in china and their perceived quality is quite high. It depends on the investment in quality parts and the level of quality control. Having said that, I've seen a lot of Acer laptops fail because of poor quality (ie cheap) parts. I have a benq laptop that comes with windows vista oem disk . I installed the vista and activated it . I recently bought a new acer laptop that eligible for free windows 7 upgrade but unfortunately it doesn't have windows on it ! has no operation system . so the question is that can I install the benq windows vista on acer laptop and use the free windows 7 upgrade on it ? and does it stopped windows vista running on benq laptop ? My laptop is eligible for a free windows 7 upgrade but it have no windows vista operation system on it , what should I do now ?

does the xbox 360 benq drive have drivers?
a while ago i got the 3 red rings of death so i was left with the drive and i was hoping to mayb still be able to use it on my laptop does ne one kno if it has drivers becuz my pc detects it as a mass storage device which it is not but it detects other dvd drives

my projector is not projecting, and it says "no source found", or searching. How can I fix it.?

Function F4 (hold the Fn key, tap the F4 key) changes between the LCD screen, and the external monitor. That should be the first thing you try. Now... you should ALSO check to see what resolution and refresh rate your [unknown model] BenQ operates at, because it could easily be that you are attempting to send a video signal at a resolution and/or refresh rate that the projector cannot handle. If I knew the model projector, I could look it up, or give you a link to the manual. Oh... don't bother adding more information into Additional Details. Yahoo doesn't inform people who answered your questions when you do that.... so putting in the model of projector you have won't get that information to me. And... your question is about 10 pages back, and isn't about to be seen by people not actively looking for it. end of line

I am so stupid when it comes to electronic. I am giving my laptop to my little brother and buy myself another one. What I usually do on my computer/laptop is using the Internet. I also save a lot of videos, songs and pictures. I mean A LOT. I also save a lot of notes from classes and stuff. Those systems are all pretty much horrible. Almost a grand for a Vista Home Basic system? Geeks, NewEgg and Walmart all have those starting at like 350-400 for a Home Basic laptop. I suggest you keep looking. If you are willing to spend a grand, go find a cheap alienware, which will play games fairly well and have a good, stable, solid machine.

I think the 1st one is a good laptop. it has all the necessary things need for surfing the web or doing work. But you are always carrying a risk when you buy pre- built laptops. GOOD luck.

The second one the Toshiba laptop is the best out of these, but seriously u could probably get something better from ur local store at a cheaper price. Whatever u do please don't buy the third one, its horrible. So out of these 4 the best is the Toshiba again, the site in Russian, anyway take care. Good Luck!

i just got the Toshiba Satellite A205-S7458. it is really fast for entry level gaming and doeseverything i need it to do. 2GB of ram. 200Gb hard drive. Intel Core 2 Duo. really nice. Office Depot price is $949.99. you can probably get it for less somewhere online.

Hmmmm. You would have to actually take apart your laptop to access the SATA ports. They're located on your motherboard. You would also have to take apart the 360 to flash it. You would also need a SATA to USB adapter. (You could easily find these online or at places that sell accessories for the Xbox. eSATA ports are ports found on newer models of PCs produced after 2004, they are SATA ports that are located on the outside of computers that are as easy to access as USB ports. I do not recommend flashing your 360 unless you have lots of time, patience, and are Tech-Inclined. An extra 360 is also highly recommend. Not only is there an extremely high possiblity of your computer or 360 breaking while taking it apart, using the program to flash your drive is very risky. A modchip is a lot easier than doing this. It would also be easier to pay a Geek Squad member to flash it for you:) There is no way to softmod the 360 with homebrew like the wii yet, but eventually there will. Just be patient and dont risk your pc or 360.

I'd like to buy a monitor to my laptop. I need some help to decide.?
I am thinking about buying BenQ G2220HD or BenQ G2220HDA or Asus VH222D monitor to my lenovo thinkpad r61i laptop. But i am not sure if this model can handle HD monitors or not. I'd appreciate if you could give me some pros and cons to the brands (benq, asus). Thanks! The graphic card of the thinkpad r61i is: 128MB nVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M

i have a netbook with the gma 950 and mine cant support my benq E2200HD (older version of the G2220HD). i am not sure if you have exactly the same gpu but if you do... and i assume you do (to find this out go to properties, change resolution and then it should say the gpu you have. if you have the X3100 then it supports 1920x1080, if you have something like the GMA 950, 965,915 then it wont) then i would get a smaller resolutioned one maybe 19" or something. i love my Benq has performed flawlessly for 6months, no dead pixels, great quality i truly superb monitor. if your laptop does support full-hd then by all means dont hesitate to grab the G2220HD. oh but the benq will smudge very easely :)

Joybook / Laptop problems! PLEASE read!!?
I recently bought BENQ JoyBook P52. It works great, but the problem is with the battery charger. It worked yesterday (the green light was on), but today it doesn't. I tried every plug in my house, the battery charger light won't turn on at all. What can I do about this? PLEASE help me. If the charger won't work, once the battery empties I won't be able to use my laptop anymore. PLEASE help! P.S. I will choose a best answer.

If you plugin the charger intoevery plug and it still doesn't charge than the charger is to be blamed, or the cable - maybe it is broken. Take it back to the dealer.
2 :
if your battery is fully charged right now, it will not come on. If you know it needs to be charged, and the light is not coming on, check your power management settings. If everything seems in order when you do that, then maybe take it back to the store where you bought it and let them have a look. It maybe something simple, or you may need warranty work done
