my laptop keyboard does not work correctly i belive this to be mainboard fault, would it be expensive to fix ?
The laptop is a Ben Q laptop. Everything else works but the keyboard. Is this because of the mainboard or is it something else. How much will it cost to get it fixed. It'll probably cost alot of money to get it fixed, if it's not under warranty. It's a risk, but you can open up your laptop and see if the keyboard is connected properly. It's pretty straightforward on my Fujitsu notebook, but your mileage may vary. If you want to send it back to the manufacturer, you'll have to pay for shipping + service + parts (if necessary). It could easily cost $200-300. Another alternative is to search for "laptop repair" in Google and take your chances on a third party laptop repair service. Good luck.

Doesn't have to be, my laptop had a similar fault, i now use a usb Cherry keyboard. and could cost u at least 130 Dollar, although most likely more. so USB Keyboard is the best bet matey, you could always check by borrowing a keyboard from a mate or from work. don't think its Hardware.

Just upgrade to a Macintosh and all these moronic problems will go away.

Could you please explain what DOES NOT WORK CORRECLTY means? Does it work at all? Do some of the keys works, but not others? Do some keys result in the wrong charcters? etc. etc. If even one key works then the chip controller that works the keyboard is fine. Usually, there is a liquid spilled on the keyboard that shorts out the wiring traces and garbles the signal sent to the controller chip....

Answer...For second time...pls don't post same question twice... Depends of keyboard type from 19 till 99$ for keyboard . just buy a keyboard with a usb adapter on it so you can use the keyboard don't buy a usb keyboard they will ask for more just buy a keyboard and adapter to conncet on to the the keyboard cable then into the usb port
